Extraction: Netflix’s high octane action thriller

Netflix has managed to raise the Adrenalin with three minutes of footage in form of the first official trailer for their upcoming action film, Extraction. Lead, Chris Hemsworth is in his element as a lethal mercenary and the film is based in India and Bangladesh.

Extraction has been in the news for quite some time and recently Netflix released an official poster in the buildup to release.

Hemsworth, as Tyler Rake is shown to be on a mission to rescue the son of India’s biggest drug lord who has been kidnapped by an equally powerful crime lord in Bangladesh. It is a war between crime syndicates of the two countries with Rake trying to get the boy to safety for money.

After facing potential setbacks, Rake is shown to reconsider the deadly mission. However, there seems to be a turn of events where he develops a bond with the kid and promises to get him home safely. The trailer states:

When the mission ends, redemption begins.

The three minute clip is full of amazing action and combat sequences. Furthermore, as a staple, there are intense car chases and a lot of explosions and gunfire.

We also get our first looks at Indian actors Pankaj Tripathi and Randeep Hooda in action and they seem to have major parts in the film. Rudhraksh Jaiswal who plays the kidnapped son also looks convincing next to Hemsworth in the footage.

The film also stars David Harbour, Derek Luke and Golshifteh Farahani in important roles and has been produced by the Russo Brothers. Hemsworth has previously worked with them as directors in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Extraction has been directed by debutante director, Sam Hargrave.

Hemsworth released a video via Netflix India’s Instagram yesterday addressing Indian fans and apologising for the cancelled press tour in the country due the Coronavirus pandemic.
