Rukhsana: Dil Dosti Dilemma character explained

Rukhsana is the first friend Asmara makes when she is sent to live with her grandparents as punishment. Vishakha Pandey plays Rukhsana in Dil Dosti Dilemma.

Asmara first meets Rukhsana during a fashion show at her college. Rukhsana comes across as the kind of girl Asmara would never befriend.

Rukhsana, who comes from a middle-class family and lives on Tibbri Road, does not share the same privileges as Asmara.

When Rukhsana volunteers at David Chenoy’s fashion show, she sees a dress that catches her eye and wears it to feel fancy like the other rich girls.

Asmara and her friends help Rukhsana when she is unable to get out of the dress and faces trouble with Chenoy, not knowing that Rukhsana is her childhood friend.

It is only when Asmara is sent to her grandparents’ house on Tibbri Road that she finds out Rukhsana is a friend she no longer remembers.

Starting her own business

Rukhsana’s friendly and cheerful demeanor wins Asmara over. Rukhsana tries her best to help Asmara get used to living on Tibbri Road.

She shows Asmara the patches she embroiders and even sews them onto Asmara’s jacket, which makes Asmara realize just how talented Rukhsana is.

Asmara then gives Rukhsana the idea to start her own business on social media. Asmara helps Rukhsana with it without revealing her identity.

Surprisingly, Rukhsana starts getting orders very soon, and Asmara ropes in Farzaan to help Rukhsana financially.

With Asmara’s help, Rukhsana starts her business without her grandmother’s or her mother’s knowledge.

Running away from home

Rukhsana has grown up in a conservative household. Her grandmother, Akhtar Begum, does not treat her well or allow her the same freedom as Asmara.

Since her father passed away, all Rukhsana’s mother has wanted is to marry her into a wealthy family. Unbeknownst to her family, Rukhsana is in love with their tenant, Suhail.

As Suhail is a struggling musician, he cannot marry Rukhsana until he establishes himself, but Rukhsana is willing to wait.

However, Rukhsana’s family arranges her marriage to the Corporator’s son without consulting her. Her mother pleads with her to accept the proposal.

Believing that her family’s happiness and the future of Tibbri Road depend on her decision, Rukhsana feels compelled to agree to the match.

Suhail is ready to give up his music career for her, but Rukhsana does not want him to make that sacrifice and resent her for the rest of his life, so she breaks up with him.

Asmara later finds out that Chenoy’s interns have stolen Rukhsana’s designs and Chenoy is now launching those designs under his label.

Asmara reveals the truth to Chenoy, who is impressed by Rukhsana’s work and offers her a job. Now that Rukhsana is independent, Asmara convinces her to run away with Suhail.

Farzaan also encourages her to choose her happiness over her family’s wishes. Even Rukhsana’s mother stands up for her when her grandmother mistreats her.

Rukhsana’s mother learns about her plans to leave for Mumbai but does not try to stop her. However, Rukhsana never leaves for Mumbai.

She waits for Suhail at the bus station, but Suhail, who has finally gained the exposure he needed, does not show up.
