Diljit Dosanjh is set to lead filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming Netflix original film based on 1984 Sikh riots, as per reports.
Zafar already has a two-part superhero movie featuring Katrina Kaif lined up with Netflix as director, but the filmmaker will only produce Dosanjh’s film.
Dosanjh vaguely mentioned the film during an Instagram Live Q&A back in June. After a fan asked him which shows to watch on Netflix, he said:
“I’m going to do a Netflix film. The shooting stopped because of the lockdown, but we’ll resume as soon as things are back to normal.”
Zafar is currently gearing up for ‘Khaali Peeli’, a romantic-comedy starring Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday. The film doesn’t look to be taking the digital route unlike many of the other films which were supposed to release in a similar timeframe.
The filmmaker is also known for mainstream Bollywood titles such as Tiger Zinda Hai, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Bharat.
