Recap

Lady Suroth and Ishamael stand before Lord Turak, the ruler of the Seanchan people. He criticizes her decision to cross the oceans and capture a small village too far for them to control.

He is presented with the Horn which pleases him greatly. Selene wakes up as Moiraine and Rand make a run for it. They find a stable nearby and escape on horseback.

Perrin makes his way back to the village when he finds out that they didn’t bury Uno. He goes into the village and finds that it is overrun by White Cloaks who forced the Seanchan out.

He also meets a woman in a cage, a warrior named Aviendha but he is warned not to get close to her. Verin returns to the White Tower and wants to meet Egwene and Nynaeve but finds that they are not present in the Tower.

Liandrin has Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elayne tied up as she reveals that she has broken her oath and turned to the dark. Lady Suroth is left embarrassed by her interaction with Lord Turak but Ishamael reminds her that it will all be worth it in the end.

Moiraine and Rand head back to Cairhien where she visits her sister again and prepares for them to leave soon. Verin is suspicious of the three novices’ disappearance and begins investigating it.

Liandrin takes them to Lady Suroth as an offering, but before she leaves, she undoes Nynaeve’s bonds. They manage to escape Lady Suroth but are split up.

Perrin frees Aviendha and they fight off the White Cloaks before escaping. She says that she owes him a debt because he saved her life. He says that they should head to Falme to rescue Loial and the others.

Elayne and Nynaeve reach Falme, and sneak around before they are knocked out by someone. They wake up in a bed and the man who brought them there turns out to be a Warder for a Yellow Adjah.

Anvaere gives Moiraine some useful advice, while Selene has a conversation with Ishamael while she waits for Rand to fall asleep. Moraine tells Rand that Selene, or Lanfear, is known for her command of the dream world.

She figures that she can use it to her advantage as Lanfear has always been known to be in love with the Dragon Reborn. She tells Rand to fall asleep and play along with her so that they can stall till they figure out what to do next.

Review

  • The episodes are getting slower and more tedious to watch. This one comes in at just over an hour and given the sheer amount of information covered, it can be tough to get through.
  • The fight sequence between Aviendha and the White Cloaks is amazing and the choreography is top-tier. The accompanying score just enhances the entire experience.
  • The special effects also continue to be of the highest quality, which is expected given the budget of the series. They could have taken it easy but they chose to serve up some wonderful effects.
