MX Player recently announced the launch of its new web series, Girlfriend Chor.
The original web series features Kota Factory actor Mayur More in the lead along with Shishir Sharma, Diksha Juneja, Himani Sharma, Kushagre Dua and Sonali Sachdev.
The official description of Girlfriend Chor reads:
Lovelorn college guy Aakash has been friend-zoned – again! Neha, who he’s been pining for a while, broke up and is now with the charming Vishal. Having seen Aakash’s patterns one too many times, his dad, Mohan decides that it’s time to intervene. He, with Akash’s mother and Ritu- Vishal’s friend who has been friend-zoned by Vishal band together and decide that they’re going to undertake a proper mission to set this complicated love square in order.
The five-episode series will explore the various schemes that Aakash (More) applies with the help of his parents to steal his crush, Neha (Sharma).
The director, Girish Jotwani talked about the concept of Girlfriend Chor and said:
The seed of this story came from a quote that I have often questioned- ‘Love is like a bird, set it free.’ Aakash, the protagonist believed in it but his dad doesn’t. We know how far we might go for love, but how far would our parents go for our love? We explored this idea further and it led to an incredible journey with some of the coolest and most wonderful actors, a talented and dedicated crew, my loving friends from FTII and the amazing folks from Pocket Aces and MX Player.
Girlfriend Chor is streaming now on MX Player.
