Commit Mental: TVF’s Permanent Roommates to get Telugu remake

It’s been six years since TVF’s first original series Permanent Roommates came into the picture, and the web series has still managed to keep some surprises in store. The show will be getting a Telugu remake titled Commit Mental on Aha, an OTT streaming service offering Telugu-language content.

TVF took to their official twitter handle to share the exciting news in a “how it started/how it’s going” post:

Featuring Punarnavi Bhupalam and Udbhav Raghunandan as the lead pair Anu and Phani, the web series is shepherded by Pavan Sadineni of Prem Ishq Khadal. The show will cater to a younger audience who according to the director, will find the show to be relatable and easy to connect with.

Bhupalam (Uyyala Jampala) and Raghunandan (Chicago Subba Rao) have been promoting the upcoming web series on Instagram. A week back both actors posted a picture with the former wearing an engagement ring, getting the fans excited and riled up thinking Bhupalam got engaged in real life.

In a later post, the actor was seen dispelling the rumours as the proposal was part of the upcoming web series, as seen in the poster:

Permanent Roommates came out in 2014, followed by a second season in 2016. The web series focused on a young couple in a previously long distance relationship who work through the transition when they start living together. Sadineni’s remake will follow a similar plot line with an urbane touch.

Commit Mental will also star Venkatesh Kakumanu, Namrata Tipirneni, Sai Swetha, Jabardasth Apparao, Sivannarayana Naripeddi, Raj Mudiraj and Dinesh Koushika.

The Aha original is slated to premiere on November 13. Check out the trailer for Commit Mental here:
