Brie Larson to star in Apple TV+ show ‘Lessons In Chemistry’

Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson is set to star in and executively produce ‘Lessons in Chemistry’, an Apple TV+ drama series.

‘Lessons in Chemistry’ is an adaptation of Bonnie Garmus’ upcoming novel of the same name. It is set in the 1960s and follows the story of a budding female scientist Elizabeth Zott (Larson), whose dream to pursue science is thwarted by the belief that a woman’s rightful place is at home.

When Elizabeth becomes pregnant, she is fired from her job at the science lab. Undeterred, she finds a new way to follow her passion. She accepts a job on a cooking show, taking it upon herself to teach the housewives of the nation more than just cooking.

Besides Larson, ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ is also being executive produced by Aggregate Films, known for shows like Netflix’s ‘Ozark’ and HBO’s ‘The Outsider’.

Susannah Grant, who received an Academy Award nomination for her screenplay for ‘Erin Brockovich’, has been roped in to write the Apple TV+ series.
