Tawara family’s true identity in House of Ninjas explained

The Tawara family has been working as shinobi who protect the nation and important figures while thwarting threats, all while working from the shadows. Their true identity entails a rich history.

The Tawara family consists of Taki the grandmother; Soichi the father; Yoko the mother; Gaku the first-born son; Haru the second-born son; Nahi the younger sister of Har; and Riku, the youngest son.

Riku has always felt different from his family and he eventually figures out why. It’s because his family members are all shinobi.

When he finds a grand basement beneath his house, his grandmother catches him and has to finally come clean about his family’s true identity.

The true identity

Riku learns alongside the audience, about the true name of the Tawaras. Their family has descended from a famous shinobi clan called Hattori.

They’ve been living as Tawaras to hide their identity, as they also lead normal lives doing normal jobs; the shinobi missions aren’t a constant gig.

Riku is shocked to learn that he’s a descendant of the legendary Hattori Hanzo, whom he has been hearing about in the plays and skits for so long.

The history

Hattori Hanzo, a legendary shinobi, is the ancestral Hattori who defeated the villainous Fuma clan.

He defeated the concurrent Fuma leader, Fuma Kotaro the Fifth, and took his mask as a war trophy, which is still kept intact inside the Tawara family’s basement.

He also drove the Hojo clan out of Odawara, who were protected by the hired Fuma clan.

The Fuma clan and the Hojo clan have survived and their descendants remain to this day.
