Davy Siegel’s death in Sugar explained

In Sugar, overwhelmed by guilt for what he did, David “Davy” Siegel chooses to end his life.

Davy Siegel finds himself in trouble when news about an actor accusing him of sexual harassment spreads in the media.

Stallings further pressures him, saying that his name should not come out. Sugar visits Davy to figure out what he knows about Olivia.

While Margit and Bernie are both protective of their son, Davy chooses to talk to Sugar and confess what he may have done.

Davy admits to using sexual blackmail against women and going to Stallings for them. During a conversation with Stallings, Davy talked about women coming after him, threatening to sue him, and Olivia, who wanted to go all out on him.

Davy had assumed that Stallings would only scare Olivia, but now she is gone.

Davy has been accused of sexual harassment, his career is in jeopardy, and now Olivia is gone because of him. Realizing the pit he is in, from which he may never get out, at the end of the fifth episode, Davy chooses to kill himself.

Davy’s condition

Even though Davy shoots himself in the head, he survives. Davy’s body is perfectly functional, but his brain is permanently damaged. Hence, he will never be able to speak, move, or think.

Later on, Bernie talks to Jonathan, who has been hospitalized since news about accusations against Davy broke, about Davy.
