Jin Se-Kyung: Goodbye Earth character explained

Jin Se-Kyung is a former teacher and volunteer at City Hall who is ready to do anything for the well-being of her children. Ahn Eun-jin plays the character.

Jin Se-Kyung was a middle school teacher and during the asteroid crisis, many of her students were kidnapped by convicts looking to traffic them

The children were eventually tracked down with one survivor and Se-Kyung took it quite close to her heart.

She made it her mission to ensure the remaining kids were safe and secretly tracked down the people responsible for their kidnapping.

During the day, she would volunteer at city hall and offer mental health services. She also had a budding romance with Yun Sang-eun which was affected by their time apart.

Set priorities

Se-Kyung got a letter from Ha-yul telling her that one of the kidnappers stayed in the house next to hers.

She goes there to kill him but finds him dead already. She followed up with some clues that she gained and led In-a to a trafficking network at a brothel downtown.

Se-Kyung doesn’t want to share with Sang-eun and always brushes him away when he digs deeper.

Her main focus is the welfare of the children, and when all their friends suggest they finally get married like they were supposed to, Se-Kyung delays her decision.

She is very resourceful and determined despite running into trouble head-on. She relies heavily on In-a on many occasions and their bond is extremely strong.

Se-kyung is also mentally resilient as she almost killed one person and did kill another. She isn’t afraid to fire a gun at someone when it is required.

It is not until they thwart the JIU’s escape attempt that Se-Kyung finally settles down for the final hundred days before impact.

She and Sang-eun finally get married, and she comes clean to him about everything that she did.

However, with the rise in trafficking during the final few weeks, she decides to end things once and for all and protect the children from evil.
