Hibiki Sakurama emerges as one of the most interesting characters in the action-thriller Go! Go! Loser Ranger! The latest episode sees him join Fighter D and reveal both his past and his plans for the future.
Sakurama eavesdrops on Yumeko and Fighter D’s conversation and learns that the Dragon Keepers’ fights with the Kaijin have been nothing but a big sham for all these years.
He meets Fighter D later on and despite the two being each other’s enemies, his intentions with the monster are not antagonistic but friendly.
Sakurama’s past
Sakurama’s father and mother were idealistic and cultists. They worshipped their “god,” who was actually just one of the executives of the monster army, who during one sermon killed them all.
His elder sister ended up sacrificing her legs to save her brother as well. As the monster approached the kids to finish the job, Sakurama arose, and like his favorite ranger, the Red Dragon Keeper, he faced him.
Somehow, he survived that, and ever since he has been trying to make a world where the monsters and the Rangers can co-exist peacefully. When he learns of the institutional corruption in the Ranger Force, he decides to reform it.
Finding an ally
To do that, he needs the help of a formidable ally, which he finds in Fighter D, who is on a mission to take revenge against the force and seeks to destroy all the Keepers. He has no second thoughts about approaching him for that.
Fighter D is totally taken aback by his gesture and despite his reluctance and protest, he sees how determined Hibiki is and has to join hands with him. However, before that happens, the two face quite a peril in the form of Hekiru.
He’s been sent to kill Fighter D so Hibiki hatches a plan. It involves the two switching with each other. Fighter D transforms into Hibiki and turns Hibiki into himself. After a tense and dangerous battle, Hibiki cuts off Fighter D’s head and throws him off the cliff, visibly killing him. However, this is what Hekiru witnesses before he leaves with Hibiki.
The path ahead
In reality, who he returns to the Force with is actually Fighter D, who can now properly infiltrate the Force as Sakurama.
Meanwhile, Hibiki is handless and suffers burns while disguised as Fighter D, but now he can work towards achieving his dream from obscurity.
He is also in a competition with Fighter D; both need to achieve their respective mission before the other one can.
Fighter D wants all the Dragon Keepers dead, but Hibiki has his sister, the Pink Keeper, to protect, apart from ensuring that the Force is reformed and mutual peace between them and the monster army is established.
