In Prom Dates, Greg is the boy Hannah is pretending to date. Kenny Ridwan plays Greg.
Greg and Hannah have been dating each other for the entire senior year. While Hannah is just pretending to date him because she is too afraid to come out as a lesbian, Greg is totally in love with her.
Greg’s whole world revolves around her. He often displays his affection for Hannah with grand gestures. However, Hannah is not a fan of such big gestures.
Anyhow, Hannah has not much to worry about. She and Greg are going to different colleges after all. That all changes when Greg surprises Hannah with the news that he has transferred to the college Hannah is going to.
The heartbreak
Hannah immediately breaks up with Greg by walking out on him after learning that he has switched colleges for her.
A heartbroken Greg returns to find her, but to no avail. When Greg is alone and miserable, Hannah’s brother, Jacob, acts as a good friend to him.
Jacob invites Greg along to a concert he is attending. At the concert, when Greg learns that Hannah is around, he looks for her and finds her making out with Angie.
Greg is further shattered, not because Hannah is into girls, but because she lied to him and used him the entire senior year.
The next day, Greg visits Hannah and confesses that he wouldn’t have minded being Hannah’s fake boyfriend. However, if Hannah was so afraid to tell him the truth, she should have just dumped him and been a decent friend.
Finding love
At the prom, Hannah makes things right by coming out in front of everyone and apologizing to Greg with a grand gesture.
While Hannah and Jess don’t find the love of their lives, Greg does when he is approached by someone who is just like him. Their behaviors match, and the two are perfect for each other.
