CC has big dreams when it comes to her soccer career. However, according to her, the only person standing between her and her dreams is her mother, Jess.
CC believes Jess desperately wants her to be like her. Jess was around CC’s age when she played at the Junior Olympics, but she had to give up on her career after a shoulder injury.
Jess had to start from scratch, and she doesn’t want the same to happen with CC, who, she thinks, has been focusing more on soccer and less on her studies.
The body switch changes CC’s perspective
According to CC, Jess is very controlling and is like a robot who will find the most comfortable option. The two argue about whether they can live each other’s lives, and soon that wish is granted when their bodies get switched one day.
At first, both CC and Jess perform miserably in each other’s place and cost each other opportunities. However, during their time in each other’s bodies, the two find out how much they are both working hard to keep each other happy.
CC hears that her mother has been avoiding vacations to pay for her football camp and has ignored the promotion she could have gotten three years ago to attend her matches. Meanwhile, Jess learns that CC has applied herself at school and made progress this semester.
In the end, CC handles Jess’ meeting in her way by giving Jess’ colleagues a chance to do a presentation for a client, unlike Jess, who tends to handle stuff on her own.
CC’s method helps Jess win the client’s trust. Jess not only gets the project that she wants, but she also becomes a partner at the firm.
Meanwhile, thanks to Jess, who showed good character during a soccer match as CC, CC gets a chance to play for the national team, though Jess didn’t perform well in CC’s last match when they were not in their own bodies.
Jess and CC have grown to trust each other. Hence, Jess shows support for CC’s love for soccer and tells her to try for the national team.
