Adam Miles: Players character explained

For over a decade, Adam Miles has been in love with his best friend, Mack, who does not reciprocate his feelings. In Players, Damon Wayans Jr. plays Adam.

Like Mack and Sam, Adam also works at The Brooklyn Ace. He works in the visual department.

It is evident to everyone except Mack that Adam has been in love with her for years now. However, as Mack does not reciprocate his feelings, Adam comes to terms with being her supportive friend.

A good friend

Adam knows Mack better than anyone. Adam and Mack have similar interests, and Adam likes her the way she is.

They went to college together, and they did try to sleep together once. However, it did not go anywhere, as Adam thought he was taking advantage of Mack, who had just lost her mother.

Now, Adam and Mack are just friends. Mack feels comfortable being herself with him. She shares her stories, hopes, and feelings with him, and Adam never fails to understand her.

When Mack starts liking Nick, Adam is the first person she tells about her desire to date Nick. Like a good friend, Adam agrees to help Mack win Nick’s heart.

However, Adam advises Mack against using a play as a means to start a relationship, but Mack chooses not to heed his advice.

While helping Mack, Adam starts dating a girl named Claire because he also wants an adult relationship now. Unlike Mack, he does not use a play to date Claire.

He even introduces Claire to his friends, as he is serious about this relationship. However, it does not last long.

Adam introduces Claire to his friends

When Claire and Adam go on a double date with Mack and Nick, it does not take Claire long to understand that Adam is in love with Mack.

As a result, Claire and Adam break up, but Adam does not tell his friends about it. He continues supporting and appreciating Mack, which Nick fails to do.

More than a friend

Mack tells Adam about Nick rewriting her article after taking weeks to read it. Adam then points out to her that Nick does not know her.

However, Mack refuses to acknowledge the truth. Adam, sick of Mack’s games, gets into an argument with her, which results in the worst fight the two of them have ever had.

Eventually, Mack realizes that Adam was right. She breaks up with Nick and tries to make amends, but Adam is not willing to speak to her just yet.

Mack then comes to know about Adam’s breakup and his feelings for her. Additionally, she realizes that she reciprocates his feelings.

With the help of her friends, Mack tricks Adam into meeting her at the park where her parents met. There, she confesses her feelings to him.

Adam forgives Mack, and they start dating. This time, there are no plays involved, and they are honest with each other, just like Adam believes relationships should be.
