Strong Girl Nam-Soon season 1 episode 8 recap & review

In Strong Girl Nam-Soon episode 8, Hee-Sik gets worried for Nam-Soon, who penetrates further into Si-O’s empire while taking utter joy in her espionage activities.

Recap

Jang-Goon and Jun-Hee’s relationship is on the incline and the two grow closer. Meanwhile, Geum-Ju announces to her board of directors that they’ll be buying a dying TV channel.

Nam-Soon hears about the guy who tipped off the police about Hwa-Ja dying due to overwork. She goes to meet the bereaved family members and offers financial support.

Later, she begins work at the corporate relations branch of Doogo but Si-O asks her to memorize the names of the important client list. She records it all via the smartwatch she wears on her wrist, relaying it all to Hee-Sik.

She later goes to one of his bases of important meetings, the club where Marie Kim manages the Heritage Club. She is informed by Si-O that she’s going to be replaced by Hillary Khan, the alias he and Nam-Soon decided for her.

Marie Kim tries to test Nam-Soon by giving her a paralyzing toxin mixed in her alcohol, but Nam-Soon isn’t affected in the slightest.

She later leaves and reconvenes with Hee-Sik. She embarks on another risky endeavor as she breaks into Si-O’s office to steal his computer.

Geum-Ju digs more into Bread Song and gets only more infuriated at how he seems to be popping up everywhere, seeming to have a connection with Ryu Si-O that goes back a long time.

While Jun-Hee proposes to Jang-Goon, Geum-Ju learns that her father is back in Korea, as Strong Girl Nam-Soon episode 8 rolls the credits.

Review

• Strong Girl Nam-Soon episode 8 dials up the stakes but Nam-Soon’s aloof fervor through the risky espionage goofing takes away a lot of tension.
• As Hee-Sik has advised her again and again, and she has ignored it each time, Nam-Soon’s kryptonite may just be her overconfident self.
• However, having the titular name comes with a lot of plot armor and Nam-Soon seems to be in safe hands (her own, that is).
