Worth on Netflix: Calculating value of life

The trailer for Netlix’s post 9/11 drama, ‘Worth’, is out now. The film is set to be released on September 3, 2021.

‘Worth’ initially premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2021, after which Netflix acquired the distribution rights.

The narrative follows factual events of the incidents post the 9/11 terror attacks and tells the story of lawyer Kenneth Feinberg, played by Academy Award Nominee Michael Keaton, who is tasked with the job of devising a formula through which the families of the victims can be compensated, based on the economic value lost due to the death or injury to the victims.

It traces the moral and ethical dilemmas that a person faces in the journey to calculate the worth of life. Apart from Michael Keaton, the movie is also being led by two other Academy Award Nominees, Stanley Tucci and Amy Ryan.

‘Worth’ comes from the producers of Academy Award winning film, ‘Spotlight’ and ’12 Years a Slave’ including Michael Keaton, Anthony Katagas, Marc Butan, Sean Sorensen, Bard Dorros, Michael Sugar, and Max Borenstein. It has been directed by Sara Colangelo.

The previous movie that starred Keaton and Ryan was Birdman or (The Unexpected virtue of Ignorance) which went on to win the Academy Award for the Best Picture at the 87th Academy Awards.
