The High School Musical alum will star in Netflix’s new holiday rom-com flick, The Knight Before Christmas, which is set to release on the streaming platform in November.
The news was first shared by Netflix’s twitter update account @SeeWhatsNext, with the official poster being unveiled:
Hudgens plays ‘a kind science teacher who has been disillusioned by love’. The film also stars Josh Whitehouse who assumes the role of medieval knight in (shining) armour (atop a horse), who finds himself cursed into a world much ahead of his time. It is up to Hudgens’ character to help the Knight find his way back home.
Sounds like the perfect holiday romance waiting to happen. Everything about the movie so far exudes fun, festive and romance – a perfect Christmas watch, complete with Christmas lights and snow. Lots of it.
Hudgens previously starred in the holiday flick The Princess Switch where she assumed a double role. The film was released on Netflix in November 2018.
She played the character Stacy, an aspiring baker from Chicago as well as Margaret, the Duchess of Montanaro.
They run into each other in Belgravia, when Stacy is setting up to compete in MasterChef Belgravia and Margaret is visiting a dashing prince who is her betrothed. The two exchange places upon the duchess’ desire to experience being a real girl.
