‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ gets digital premiere on Disney+ Day

The 2022 Disney+ Day is here and the platform has added a massive collection of new titles to its library including the latest MCU film, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

This film is the 29th entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and follows Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Odinson after the events of Avengers: Endgame. After getting back in shape and flying off with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the God of Thunder sets out on a journey to attain inner peace.

However, when a foe named Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) starts brutally slaying deities, Thor joins hands with Korg (Taika Waititi), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and his old flame Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) — who now wields the hammer Mjolnir — to bring him down.

The film was initially released theatrically in July 2022.

Disney+ Day 2022 also sees the digital release of Tom Hanks, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Joseph Gordon-Levitt led iteration of the classic tale of ‘Pinocchio’. The film is a blend of live action and CGI.

In addition, a brand new series set in Pixar’s ‘Cars’ universe titled, ‘Cars on the Road’, has also been added to the streamer. It follows Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his best friend Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) on a road trip across America.

Other newly released titles include a Star Wars BTS documentary ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return’, a docuseries comprising 10 coming-of-age stories ‘Growing Up’ and more.
