The Witcher season 3 filming wrapped up

The filming phase of the Netflix fantasy series ‘The Witcher’ has wrapped up, as per Steve Gaub, an executive producer on the series. It began in April this year.

He shared a picture of a skull on Instagram accompanied by the text: “And that’s a picture wrap on Season 3 of @witchernetflix!!”

Witcher fansite Redanian Intelligence reported that lead actor Henry Cavill shared a letter with the cast and crew.

“What a season this has been! I just wanted to thank you all for your determination and dedication through a tough shoot. Hopefully, you can all get some well-deserved rest. Sincerely and with respect, Henry Cavill,” he wrote.

The official synopsis for season 3 reads: “As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers.”

Season 2 ended with the reveal that Ciri, with her elven powers, is capable of opening portals to other worlds and the Wild Hunt’s existence, a group of elves hell-bent on capturing Ciri. A spin-off titled ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin‘ has also been announced and will release in 2022.

No exact release date for The Witcher season 3 has been announced yet.
