Hoichoi’s acclaimed musical offering is slated to return for a second season, the streamer announced on Wednesday. Unveiled in an announcement video released by the entertainment platform, Tansener Tanpura will take the small screens for a second round this Diwali.
With Vikram Chatterjee essaying the role of a classical music student, the novel adventure-thriller revolves around the quest for Tansen’s tanpura, that can only be achieved after attaining the ultimate understanding of music.
Alap Mitra (Vikram Chatterjee) and Shruti Mishra lie at the heart of the story, as they embark on their musical journey with all the grandeur of history, hunting the famous instrument which once belonged to the musician Tansen.
The first season that came out in June was well-received by critics and viewers alike. Since the web series ended on a cliffhanger, unleashing many twists and turns in the series, several questions that were raised in the finale will finally be answered.
Expressing his excitement about a successful first season of Tansener Tanpura, Chatterjee remarked:
“I am overwhelmed by all the love from our audience. It feels great to see how much our hard work is being appreciated. The best part is that we do not have to wait for another year but only a few months to witness Part 2!”
Helmed by Soumik Chattopadhyay, the show also stars Rupsa Chatterjee, Jayati Bhatia, Sujan Mukherjee, Bhaskar Banerjee, Debshankar Haldar, Subhasish Mukherjee, Anuradha Mukherjee in pivotal roles.
