Netflix has released the trailer for the much-anticipated Part 5 Volume 1 of Spanish Heist thriller series ‘Money Heist’ or ‘La Casa de Papel’.
Álvaro Morte, Úrsula Corberó, Itziar Ituño, Najwa Nimri, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo and Pedro Alonso all return for season 5 volume 1.
The trailer shows The Professor (Morte) after getting captured by Sierra (Nimri). He informs his team that the stormwater tank has been discovered and this might be the last time he talks to them.
Despite the odds stacked against them, the gang rallies to defend themselves. The footage also hints at many more flashbacks with Berlin (Alonso) and The Professor being tortured by Sierra.
Netflix has already announced that Part 5, releasing on September 3, will be the final season of Money Heist and pull the curtain on the Bank of Spain heist. Volume 2 will come out on December 3.
Creator Alex Pina earlier revealed the reason for this split:
“When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself. We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In Volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”
