ZEE5 Global to stream four Bangladeshi originals

ZEE5 is all set to play host to Bangladeshi content. In a separate chapter, the platform will release four Bangladeshi originals.

In a first, ZEE5 Global has announced a Bangladeshi Original film called Mainkar Chipay. The film will be a dark-comedy thriller. Along with the film, ZEE5 has asked the audience to expect three more originals from Bangladesh.

At a virtual press conference on Tuesday, the announcement was made by Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global She announced the development and production of the other upcoming Bangladeshi content projects over the next few months, with more in the pipeline.

Abrar Athar who chairs the director’s seat for Mainkar Chipay was also present at the event. He said: “We’re super excited to shoot the first Bangladeshi original on Zee 5. The film was shot in record time and we wrote the script in a way that didn’t require a large crew or a lot of equipment”.

ZEE5 Bangladesh had earlier shared the motion poster Mainkar Chipay on Instagram.

This virtual conference was also attended by Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, the former Minister of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh. He himself is a former actor and Vice Chairman of Asiatic 360.

Talking about this unique collaboration with Bangladeshi content, Amit Goenka, President – Digital Businesses & Platforms, ZEE Entertainment said: “Bangladesh is a high priority market for us and we’re very glad to be rolling out our first set of Originals in this market today”.

The trailer of Mainkar Chipay was also screened during the virtual conference. The film releases on November 9th and will mark the beginning of ZEE5’s Bangladeshi Original Content chapter.
