For All Mankind season 2: Apple TV’s Sci-Fi space show primed for second flight

Apple TV+ has revealed the teaser for season 2 of their science fiction show, For All Mankind. It has been created by Emmy Award winner Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi.

The web series focuses on an alternate reality in which the space race never concluded, after the Soviet Union beat the US to the first manned moon landing.

A Soviet astronaut Alexei Leonov becomes the first man on the moon instead of Neil Armstrong. This development pushes NASA to catch up and try to outperform the competition.

According to the official logline:

Told through the lives of NASA astronauts, engineers and their families, For All Mankind presents an aspirational world where NASA and the space program remained a priority and a focal point of our hopes and dreams.

The show features an elaborate cast including Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Wrenn Schmidt, Shantel VanSanten, Sarah Jones, and Jodi Balfour.

The second season will be set in 1983 during the time of the cold war, which is 10 years after the events of season 1. There is no official release date yet.
