Bhumi Pednekar led ‘Durgavati’ renamed ‘Durgamati’ ahead of release

Amazon Prime Video Original “Durgamati The Myth” will greet viewers this December. The upcoming horror film was earlier named “Durgavati” but the new poster has revealed an updated title.

It is the Hindi remake of Telugu-Tamil horror film, “Bhaagamathie” starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead.

Actor Akshay Kumar shared the release date along with a new poster on Twitter. The reason for the title switch has not been revealed.

The original Telugu horror film titled, “Bhaagamathie”, featured Anushka Shetty and was about a woman imprisoned in a haunted house while being interrogated in a corruption case.

The Hindi remake also stars Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mahie Gill, and has been directed by G. Ashok (who also directed the original).

Durgamati The Myth will be available to stream from December 11.
