Amazon Prime Video has made an announcement for their new original series, Bandish Bandits. The web series is a love story of two aspiring singers from different musical backgrounds.
Bandish Bandits, directed by Anand Tiwari, will feature Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry as leads. Bhowmik will be playing a Hindustani classical performer, Radhe, and Chaudhry will be seen as popstar Tamanna in the series.
Many veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sheeba Chaddha, and Rajesh Tailang are also part of the team.
Produced and created by Amritpal Singh Bindra, Bandish Bandits will see the musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy making their digital debut.
Director Tiwari said:
“Bandish Bandits is a story about the meeting of two individuals and cultures that are in many ways different, and yet in other ways incredibly similar, While each character has a unique and compelling story in their own right, it’s how these stories come together which makes this series so powerful, romantic and real. I am beyond excited to bring this incredible tale of romance, beautifully told through the musical genius of composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.”
The series will be available to stream from August 4.
