In Your Christmas or Mine 2, James and Hayley’s families head to the Alps for Christmas, only to encounter a comical mix-up. The film is streaming on Prime Video.

Plot summary:
James and Hayley scramble through the airport to get to their gate on time for a holiday to the Swiss Alps with both of their families. They watch a marriage proposal take place and discuss the meaning behind a Christmas proposal.
The families arrive with Humphery bringing along his new girlfriend, Dianne. They fly out to Innsbruck and on their way to their transport, Geoff thanks James for letting the Taylor family make their arrangements rather than let Humphrey foot the bill.
They find a fancy van waiting for them and the Taylor family is excited to see it but Geoff tells James that it might be the one Humphrey booked. James tells Geoff that they can go ahead and they will pick up the next one.
However, the one Geoff booked is a beat-up old car with an old gruff man driving it. They drive up to the hotel, but split up along the way and reach different destinations.
While Humphrey had booked a suite in the luxurious Hotel Schafberg, Geoff made a mistake and booked a run-down old shed called the Bergschaf Hotel.
The Taylor family is welcomed into a fancy experience with all of the perks while the Hughes family is forced to spend the night in very poor accommodations.
Kath realizes the mix-up that has occurred and admonishes Geoff for making such a mistake, while the Hughes family is stuck at the Bergschaf for the night due to the blizzard that does not permit travel.
Even their luggage is mixed up and while going through James’ luggage, Hayley finds a ring inside his washbag. She believes James is going to propose to her and shares the news with her father.
Dianne and Humphrey tell James that he has gotten the opportunity to study in the film school in Los Angeles but James says that he would like to talk to Hayley about it first.
Hayley briefly meets another woman named Bea who has been visiting the Alps for many years and knows her way around. Geoff spills the beans to the rest of the family and they all celebrate the coming engagement.
The next morning, the Humphreys arrive at the Hotel Schafberg and let the Taylors hang around with them till the end of the day. James wants a moment alone with Hayley so that he can talk about film school but there’s always a distraction.
They all decide to go skiing and Hayley is the only one who doesn’t know how. James pulls her aside so they can talk but Bea shows up and recognizes James. The two of them grew up together and are thrilled to see each other again.
Bea suggests taking on a tougher slope and Hayley agrees even though she doesn’t have the skill to go down. She has a tumble and has to take the cable car back down while James and Bea ski down and have fun.
Kath misses Christmas back home and when Hayley mentions this to James, he suggests that they do the same things they did back in Macclesfield, boys to the pub while the girls have a pamper.

What happens with the boys and girls?
The boys get piss-drunk while the girls enjoy a lovely spa day. When Dianne and Hayley are alone, Dianne mentions film school and assumes that James told her about it.
She is taken aback by the news but pretends like she knew about it all along. When James and Geoff are together, Geoff tells James that Hayley is thrilled about the proposal but James doesn’t know how to react.
The boys return to the hotel and Geoff tells Hayley that James stepped away to get some fresh air.
What does Hayley see?
James goes out to the balcony where he meets Bea. He tells her that he has decided to propose to Hayley but all he has is a tourist keychain and is extremely nervous about popping the question.
Bea offers to be his practice buddy so that he can figure out what he’s going to say. However, during his speech, Hayley walks out and sees them together.
She storms off with James behind her telling her that it isn’t what it looked like. He proposes to her with the keychain, and that’s when she realizes that the ring belonged to his father, not him.
They get into an argument because Hayley doesn’t feel like she fits into James’ fancy lifestyle and is unsure about moving to L.A with him. James gives her that actual Christmas gift he bought her and begs her to listen to him but she leaves.

The Taylor family leaves for the Bergschaf and Kath tells Hayley that they will be leaving for home the next day. James is very sad and down the next day until Dianne tells him that he needs to go after what he wants.
They reach the Bergschaf to find that Hayley has already left. On the plane, Hayley opens James’ gift and it is a Fitbit, just like she asked. There is also a card with some sweet words and a key to James’ apartment because he originally planned to ask her to move in.
She wants to get off the plane and James and his family arrive right on time. They make up with each other and all return to the hotel. Hayley gives James the Christmas card she bought him, and in it she asks James if he will marry her to which he says yes.
