Wan Ali is the antagonist in 24 Hours with Gaspar. Iswadi Pratama plays Wan Ali.
Wan Ali’s real name is Ali bin Usam bin Yasser al-Kindi. He is the father of Kirana, Gaspar’s childhood friend.
Gaspar is attempting to exact revenge on Wan Ali for taking Kirana away from him. Gaspar learns from his informant that Wan Ali sold his own daughter.
Wan Ali owns a jewelry shop, where Bu Tati’s son, Yadi, and his wife work.
Wan Ali’s nature and past
Apart from selling his own daughter, Wan Ali has shown quite a selfish nature. He is willing to go to extremes to get what he wants.
Bu Tati never liked Wan Ali. However, Bu Tati’s little sister, Maimunah, wanted to marry Wan Ali. Maimunah and Bu Tati had a falling out because Maimunah was adamant about her decision.
Bu Tati never understood how her sister could fall for a man like that. Anyhow, when Bu Tati’s husband, Bachtiar S. Abdillah, passed away and left her a mountain of debt, it was Maimunah and Wan Ali who gave her a place to live.
That’s what Bu Tati has been told. The truth of the matter is that Wan Ali killed his brother-in-law.
Killing Bachtiar S. Abdillah
Back in the day, Bachtiar S. Abdillah’s financials were fine. Wan Ali, on the other hand, was in crisis. Bachtiar S. Abdillah helped him out of bankruptcy.
Bachtiar S. Abdillah ended up making a big mistake by showing Wan Ali his precious possession—a magical black box that can bring great fortune to people.
In an attempt to get his hands on that box, Wan Ali killed Bachtiar S. Abdillah, stole his fortune, and told a fake story that Bu Tati was made to believe.
After learning the truth about her husband, even Bu Tati joins Gaspar in taking Wan Ali down.
Wan Ali’s death
At the end of the film, while Agnes gets Wan Ali’s gang to follow her, Gaspar corners Wan Ali, who is all alone.
Gaspar does his best to get Wan Ali to tell him what happened to Kirana. Wan Ali doesn’t share anything and is killed by Gaspar.
At Wan Ali’s hideout, Gaspar finds lots of little girls kept in cages and organs in bottles. He finds Wan Ali’s black box, in which he sees little Kirana. Following that, Gaspar frees all the girls there before driving away to die.
