A change in fortunes

Raymond invites Sirja out to dinner and comes up with an agreement they can both work with. He continues to confide in her later on and she offers him advice.

He then starts going out on dates with Martha while working with Harry to take down Charlie. He likes her but also gets a thrill because she is Charlie’s ex-wife.

He shows initiative by approaching Herb to be a part of the group that will buy out the concourse and that confidence is partly because of Martha.

When Charlie escapes his fate, Raymond doesn’t accept it and finds a new way to stick it to him.

He uses Martha and Wally’s shares in the concourse to gain controlling interest in the building which makes it easier for his LLC with Herb to purchase the concourse.

He also has the opportunity to sleep with Martha that evening and is worried because Charlie is rumored to be quite good in bed.

Sirja tells Raymond to take a pill to help and he’s having sex with her when Charlie walks in on them.

He has his shining moment as he gloats about triumphing over Charlie. Charlie reactively chokes him but he isn’t able to let go and Raymond dies before he can even savor his victory properly.
