Vic Walker’s death in American Rust: Broken Justice explained

In American Rust: Broken Justice, Vic Walker is part of the brotherhood. Del gets close to Vic to expose the brotherhood.

Vic Walker is a violent cop dealing with anger management issues. He is often seen pouring out his anger by destroying an object in his hand or hurting himself.

Vic is in a relationship with Cynthia, a fellow officer working at the Pittsburgh Police Department. He abuses her daily, but Cynthia refrains from reporting him to the IA, believing that Vic will change with time.

Vic becomes an easy target for Del, who is working undercover for the FBI to expose the brotherhood.

Hence, during his time in Pittsburgh, Del gets close to Vic, invites him to his house, and takes him hunting, hoping that sooner or later, Vic will slip and spill the secrets.

Who killed Vic?

Just when Del is making some progress, Vic goes missing, leaving Del with no lead in his case. Later in the show, Del discovers Vic’s body in the woods.

It turns out that Del wasn’t the only one focusing on Vic. Del’s partner, Angela, had grown concerned about Vic’s abuse toward Cynthia.

What scared her the most was the text that Vic had sent Cynthia, which she secretly read, screenshotted, and forwarded onto her phone.

The texts include an image of Vic with a dead body, threatening Cynthia that the body will be hers next time. What is a joke to Vic becomes a matter of concern for Angela.

Cynthia keeps refraining from reporting Vic to Internal Affairs, but Angela decides to take the big step for her and indeed report Vic.

Vic is killed by a member of the brotherhood

Unfortunately, Fisher from Internal Affairs is the leader of the brotherhood. He doesn’t like loose ends and has warned Vic before.

The dead body seems to be their work. Hence, to eliminate the loose end that Vic has become, Fisher gets rid of him by killing him out in the woods and burying his body.
