Son: Ready, Set, Love character explained

Son, one of The Gentlemen, has a past connection with Day. In Ready, Set, Love, Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen plays Son.

When Day participates in Ready, Set, Love and meets Son, they get off on the wrong foot. Son mistakes her for a stalker and refuses to entertain her request for an autograph.

Later, as luck would have it, Day ends up meeting Son when she is on the verge of elimination.

Son, who has earned the title of the Ice Prince, has no intention of saving her. However, when he sees the necklace she is wearing, he changes his mind.

He dances to save her, which is completely out of character, as he recognizes her when he sees her necklace.

A friend Son never forgot

Son grew up on The Farm, but, unlike the others there, he has been outside once. When Son was young, his father tried to escape with him to reunite him with his mother.

Son’s father was apprehended, but Son managed to run away. Scared and alone, Son found a hiding place for himself.

It was Day who found him and took him in. The two of them became good friends, and Day not only gave him a nickname, “Meow Meow,” but also one half of her two-piece necklace.

Son was later found by the authorities and taken back to The Farm, but he never forgot his friend who showed him kindness.

Years later, when he sees Day’s necklace, he recognizes her. From then on, he does everything he can to save her from elimination.

Rebelling for freedom and love

Son is the most sought-after Gentleman, and Mrs. Kwan has plans to get him married to her daughter, Chanel.

As Mrs. Kwan keeps inviting him to her house, Son comes to know that Ready, Set, Love is rigged. Mrs. Kwan will ensure that Chanel wins and chooses Son as her husband.

Son learns that his feelings and choices do not matter. He will have to marry Chanel, and there is nothing he can do about it.

Son accepts his fate and does not rebel, but that changes when Son falls in love with Day.

He always had a plan to sneak out of The Farm, but he only gets the courage to execute it when he has Day’s support. Son gets to see the world outside The Farm.

On his date with Day, away from The Farm, Son confesses that he wants to be with Day. He then starts working with her, Paper, and Valentine to expose The Farm’s corruption.

He successfully records Mrs. Kwan’s confession regarding the fixing and gets the passcode to the confinement center, but their plans are foiled by Almond’s betrayal.

Once again, Son resigns himself to his fate, this time for Day and May’s sake. However, Day decides to fight for him, and when Chanel chooses Max, Day gets to choose Son.

After exposing The Farm’s truth, Son runs away with Day. They, along with Paper and May, join the City Ground.

Son and Day have a son who, unlike Son, will not be separated from his parents. Instead, he will grow up experiencing freedom and the love of his family.
