Mia Morris: Neon character explained

In Neon, Mia Morris works as an assistant to Oscar Morales, the record executive at BPM Records. Courtney Taylor plays Mia.

Mia pretends to be a representative at BPM when she meets Santi and his friends, who believe she is going to offer them a record deal. Mia knows that Santi and his friends won’t pay heed to her if she tells them that she is just an assistant. Hence, she takes this path.

Mia has this talent for connecting with people and getting things done. She says it’s all about making people feel like they are in power when, in fact, you are the one who is pulling the strings.

Using this same trick, Mia is able to get shows for Santi and help him meet people who can push his musical career.

Mia’s goals

Felix catches Mia’s lies when he greets her at a party in front of her boss, Oscar. Mia confesses to Felix that she is a dreamer and a hustler, and unlike her boss, she will take Santi to new heights.

Mia’s boss, Oscar, has signed some of the biggest talents in the world, but he barely gives them any callbacks. Mia says she won’t be like that. Santi needs Mia. She understands talent and is ready to go above and beyond to help Santi get what he deserves.

Mia tells Santi how his future can be

Mia juggles between following her passion and keeping her job safe. She is always trying to please Oscar, who doesn’t appreciate her, even when she saves him from being embarrassed in front of one of their artists.

Mia’s firing

Mia only finds solace in working with Santi and his friends. When she starts realizing that she is losing Santi and his friends, who have found an investor in the form of Gina, she takes the big risk of replacing Santi with a global pop star on a song on their label.

Oscar had agreed to meet Santi, but not to this move. When Oscar finds out about it, he approves Santi’s song and signs him, but fires Mia right away.

Mia’s fate at the end

Mia doesn’t give up after her firing. She looks for new clients on her own and manages to convince Javier Luna, an artist signed to BPM, to have her as his manager by claiming that she will not only support his music but also his aspirations as a magician.

Mia gets back at Oscar this way, as he is now forced to work with her since Javier is on his label. Mia also apologizes and makes up with Santi and his friends. She ends the show kissing Felix, with whom she had struck a great partnership.
