Lee Hyung-Jun: Flex X Cop character explained

Lee Hyung-Jun is a major supporting character in the action crime drama, Flex X Cop, and in the life of the protagonist Lee Gang-Hyun. Kwon Hae-Hyo plays the character in the show.

Lee Gang-Hyun is an outstanding detective and the first female leader of the Violent Crime Investigation at the Gangha Police Station.

Despite her achievements, she’s constantly derided and hated, for something that happened to her father, Lee Hyung-Jun, who once headed the criminal division at the same station.

A tainted past

Lee Gang-Hyun’s father is the former chief detective from the Gangha Police Station. He worked in the Violent Crime field for 30 years.

He was a legendary figure in the police force and many called him the “Hook.”

A few months before his retirement, he was caught for accepting a bribe, which he was later dismissed for.

Current Police Chief Sung-Gu was a hearing inspector who investigated that case.

The one who bears it all

In the present day, Lee’s superiors hate her for what her father allegedly did. Additionally, people badmouth her frequently, but she endures it all.

She continues to excel despite the adversities.

Some are also jealous of her for managing to become a team leader at such a young age and arresting 34 vicious criminals in only 3 years.

Police Chief Hwang Sung-Gu and Chief Detective Park Chan-Gun both visibly detest Gang-Hyun and regularly taunt her regarding her father’s past.

Present day

Today, Lee Hyung-Jun leads a modest life, confined to his quiet, normal habits and hobbies.

He doesn’t like to go outside much as he mostly spends his time tending to his vegetables in the garden.

He also practices calligraphy and lives for his hardworking wife and daughter, an excellent detective working to uphold her father’s legacy, which was tainted by a false accusation.
