Lee Gang-Hyun: Flex X Cop character explained

Lee Gang-Hyun is one of the leading protagonists of the action crime drama, Flex X Cop. Park Ji-Hyun plays the character in the show, available to stream on Disney+.

Lee Gang-Hyun is a veteran detective at the first female leader of the Violent Crime Investigation Team 1 at the Gangha Police Station.

Daredevil detective

Lee Gang-Hyun is a fearless detective who’s more than ready to risk her life during investigations. She’s also not afraid to make bold choices.

She is often the first one to get to the escaping culprit and detain them before her team members catch up.

Despite her seemingly weaker frame, she’s a ferocious and highly skilled fighter.

While she’s not on her detective endeavors, she’s just as vicious with words and actions if the next person is asking for it.

She’s rather gentle with her demeanor even if she’s ripping someone to shreds verbally.

As long as it comes to the chain of command, she listens to her superiors but holds her ground when it comes to ethics.

She’s a responsible officer who is ready and willing to own up to her mistakes and take responsibility for her errors in front of the media.

Family and past

Lee Gang-Hyun is burdened by a painful event that transpired in the past, and it involves her father.

He used to be a detective as well, but somehow he ended up falling from grace.

The current chief and her other superiors mention him in passing while reprimanding her for her errors.

Whenever it is mentioned, her eyes nearly well up with tears, as it’s obvious that this part of her life holds painful memories.

Right now, her father lives a rather simpler life painting at home, while her mother keeps trying to get her to date someone for once.

Lee Gang-Hyun’s chaebol nemesis

Perhaps Lee Gang-Hyun’s biggest challenge yet, Jin I-Soo emerges as also the biggest thorn for her when he gets to become the cop and a member of her team.

She has no patience or fondness for his antics. She can’t stand his personality and considers him a wealthy brat who’s never had to work a day-worth of hard work.

She calls him Silver Spoon for that very reason and does her best to get him assigned to the desk job.

However, she does recognize his talent and abilities as a surprisingly competent detective when he wants to put his mind to work.

Gradually, their hate grows into something resembling love, until the inevitable turn of the story where they become romantically involved, completing the enemies-to-lovers arc.
