Kora’s team of rebels in Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire explained

In Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire, to put a stop to Admiral Noble’s atrocities, Kora goes on a search for rebels who can help her stand up against the Motherworld.

After saving a young girl from the soldiers of the Motherworld, Kora resolves to stop Admiral Atticus Noble and save the people of Veldt from him.

She sets off to find the rebels Noble is looking for, hoping to unite them against the Motherworld. Gunnar, a farmer, joins her on this journey.

The warriors Kora gathers have one thing in common: they all seek revenge on the Motherworld.

Prince Tarak

In the Port City of Providence, Veldt, Kora meets Kai, who claims that he might know a few people who would be useful to Kora.

The first person he takes her and Gunnar to is Prince Tarak Decimus, who has committed crimes against the Motherworld.

When Kora finds him, he is enslaved by a man named Hickman on Neu-wodi. Prince Tarak can only join Kora if he pays off all of his debts.

Tarak does so by taming a creature that Hickman has. While Tarak successfully wins the trust of that creature, Hickman fails to control it once Tarak leaves, resulting in Hickman’s death right in front of Tarak’s eyes.

Nemesis

Kai next takes Kora to a legendary swordswoman named Nemesis, who firmly believes that there is a difference between justice and revenge.

Nemesis is responsible for assassinating 16 high-ranking Imperial officers and their security details, all in pursuit of avenging her slaughtered children.

General Titus

The first soldier that comes to Kora’s mind when she sets out is General Titus, whom she wants on her team. General Titus used to command the Eastern ranks for the Old King.

He was once a hero of the realm until he turned his forces on the Motherworld at the Battle of Sarawu.

In the Port City of Providence, Veldt, Kora learns that Titus is now fighting as a gladiator in a coliseum at Pollux.

He doesn’t like people bothering him anymore. The last person who went looking for him ended up with his head on a pike outside the coliseum.

When Kora finds Titus, he is drunk. He gets sober and only joins her when she tells him that he has a chance to exact revenge on Motherworld for his fallen soldiers, who died because of his surrender.

Darrian Bloodaxe

Kora’s group last finds the Bloodaxe siblings, Darrian and Devra, who are leading the very insurgency that Noble is trying to stop.

However, only Darrian joins Kora’s team. After all, the grains of Veldt fed them, and their revolution is the reason why Veldt is now suffering.

Furthermore, Kora has found them, which means Noble will also find them soon. Darrian can’t afford to see another world fall in their name.

Darrian and a few of his loyal soldiers join him. Unfortunately, Darrian dies during the battle against Noble’s army. Milius, a loyal friend of his, survives in his place.
