Plot summary

Neil, Ahana, and Imaad are childhood friends. Like most people in their twenties, they are figuring life out.

Imaad is a comedian who is still waiting for his big break. He has intimacy issues because of something that happened 14 years ago.

He sleeps around with a lot of women but never dates any of them. His father fears that he will never be able to trust anyone, so he makes him take therapy.

As Imaad believes that he does not need therapy and that his past does not affect him, he refuses to open up to his therapist.

Imaad lives with Ahana, who is a smart woman. She is good at her job but does not get the credit that she deserves.

One day, Ahana’s long-term boyfriend, Rohan, informs her that he needs a break from their relationship to focus on his career, but Ahana does not want that.

Soon after, she starts suspecting that Rohan is dating another girl, Tanya, so she creates a fake account on social media to keep tabs on his life.

Lastly, Neil is a gym trainer who lives with his parents. He comes from a middle-class family, and he is not happy with his life.

He does not see eye to eye with his father, who keeps asking him to save and spend less. He starts dating one of his clients, Lala, who is an influencer.

Neil plans to open his own studio one day, and when he discusses it with his friends, they decide to join the venture and become business partners.

Neil will run the studio, Imaad will invest in it, and Ahana will manage the business. Soon after, Ahana quits her job to focus on starting their business.

Imaad meets Simran, a photographer he matches with on a dating app. Once he gets to know Simran, he starts liking her a lot and keeps meeting her, much to his friends’ surprise.

On the other hand, Neil is concerned about Lala’s relationship with the man whose brand she is promoting, but Lala assures him that it is purely a professional relationship.

Ahana is also struggling to deal with her heartbreak. She knows that Rohan broke up with her to be with Tanya. He has moved on, but she cannot do the same.

To get Rohan’s attention, Ahana starts posting pictures on social media to make it appear as though she has moved on and is having the time of her life.

When Neil introduces Lala to his friends, it does not take them long to realize that Lala is not serious about her relationship with Neil.

Imaad then writes a comedy set based on Neil’s relationship, which upsets Neil. He ends up fighting with Imaad and saying hurtful things to him.

Neil no longer wants Imaad to invest in his business. Ahana, who has already quit her job, worries about the business and tries to get her two friends to talk to each other, but to no avail.

Ending explained:

Regrettable choices

When Neil, who is already insecure about his life, is not treated well at his workplace, he grows angry and frustrated, which results in him leaving hate comments on social media.

Imaad and Simran like each other a lot, but Imaad does not stop seeing other girls. When Simran finds out about it, she breaks up with him.

At a friend’s wedding, Neil attempts to talk to Imaad, but Imaad is too hurt to let bygones be bygones. That night, Imaad gets drunk, does drugs, and ends up in a fight.

From Lala’s social media posts, Neil comes to know that she cheated on him. When Neil confronts her about it, she denies ever being in a relationship with Neil.

Lala cheated on Neil with the owner of the brand she is promoting. The realization that Lala chose him because he has everything that Neil does not makes Neil even more insecure.

Neil’s comment about Lala being bought by the man infuriates her, and she complains to Neil’s boss about him, which results in Neil getting fired.

Neil then hacks into Lala’s social media account. He uses her account to post about how Lala’s enviable life is fake and full of lies.

Meanwhile, Ahana’s social media posts get Rohan’s attention, and he starts flirting with her, making Ahana think that she can get back together with him.

Ahana runs into him at the wedding and sleeps with him. The next morning, Rohan disappears without a word and blocks Ahana.

Moving on and making up

After Rohan blocks Ahana everywhere and leaves no way for her to contact him, she finds out that he is celebrating his birthday with his girlfriend and friends.

Ahana crashes his birthday party and questions him about sleeping with her. It turns out that Rohan did not want Ahana back; he just wanted closure.

Ahana then realizes that she should not have based her self-worth on a man like him. She no longer wants him back.

She leaves his party, but not without telling Tanya that he cheated on her. Ahana cries outside Rohan’s house, and her friends come to comfort her.

When Rohan screams at her, Imaad defends her, and Neil fights Rohan for Imaad. This brings an end to Imaad and Neil’s fight, and they reconcile.

Taking accountability

Due to Neil’s posts, Lala gets bullied on social media. Neil then admits to his friends that he was the one who hacked into Lala’s account.

Ahana is disappointed in Neil and holds him accountable for his actions. While Imaad does not excuse Neil’s actions, he is not as stern as Ahana.

He makes Neil understand that he has a lot to offer, but the problem is that he himself does not see that.

Neil then apologizes to Lala on social media. Once he starts being grateful for what he has, his relationship with his father also improves.

Confronting the past

Imaad is hurting because of his breakup with Simran. He finally opens up to his therapist and admits that he is not fine.

He also writes a comedy set about what happened to him in the past, something that even his friends are not aware of.

Imaad was sexually abused when he was ten years old. He blamed himself for it, so he kept running from his past and never told anyone about it.

Imaad is ready to stop running, and his friends are there to support him. Imaad’s set goes viral on social media, earning him recognition as a comedian. Additionally, he gets back together with Simran.

Imaad, Neil, and Ahana decide to live in the moment, keep their lives authentic, stop comparing themselves to others, and be grateful for what they have.

With this resolve, they open their studio and welcome the new year together.
