Jin Myeong-Chul is one of the major supporting characters in the action drama series, Flex X Cop. Jang Hyun-Sung plays the character in the show, available to stream on Disney+.
Jin Myeong-Chul is the chairman of Hansu Group and a man who is now looking ahead to becoming the mayor to do just as good for the country as he did for his company.
He’s the head of a conglomerate so naturally, he is occupied with the business most of the time. His philosophy is never to play a game he’ll lose.

But now it’s all about his mayoral run, for which he says he’s put everything on the line.
He is confident that he’ll win, even with the great odds of his rival, who’s a leading member of the ruling party.
He calls his mayoral candidacy the “right thing,” which his father, the former chairman of Hansu Group, used to tell him to do, instead of the easy thing.
Jin Myeong-Chul has done a lot of charity and scholarship work through his support foundation, which he founded 25 years ago.
He has two kids from two partners. His older son is Jin Seung-Ju, who is the vice chairman of Hansu Group.
He sees Seung-Ju as a reliable person and a worthy successor.
Meanwhile, he has nothing but disappointment and a perpetual cold heart and stares at his younger son, Jin I-Soo.
Strained dynamics with Jin I-Soo
He thinks Jin I-Soo is just a spoiled, good-for-nothing brat who spends most of his time on his indulgences and vanities.
Their relationship is tense and has been so for years.
A lot of his impression of I-Soo is molded by his wife, who treats I-Soo like a classic evil stepmother type.
Their relationship only worsens when Jin Myeong-Chul publicly announces his mayoral candidacy and ends up learning from the reporters that his son I-Soo has been arrested for assault.
It angers him so much that he abandons all efforts to ask what I-Soo has to say or if he’s even guilty.
When he confronts him at the police station, Jin I-Soo’s attitude makes him only angrier and he lashes out, slapping his son in the process.
He then tells I-Soo that he’s disowning him. He provides no help to bail him out or get him lawyers. Jin Seung-Ju does that.
He also says quite mean things to I-Soo, like he only considers his elder brother as his son now.
Despite I-Soo’s recent achievements and good work as a police detective, he refuses to use him for his mayoral campaign, citing I-Soo’s unreliability.
