How does Dupli-Kate survive in Invincible season 2?

Dupli-Kate perishes during a fight with the Lizard League and a funeral is held in her name before she returns before Immortal.

As explained by her superhero name, Kate Cha can make copies of herself and as long as one copy remains, the others can perish without consequences.

However, Kate has a telepathic link with all of her copies and can feel what they feel. So every death she has experienced weighs heavily on her.

When Immortal joins the team, Kate begins a relationship with him because he’s the only other person who can relate to her situation.

The couple falls in love with each other and Immortal feels connected to someone for the first time in a very long time.

An unfortunate encounter

While Immortal and the rest of the heroes are in space taking on the sequids, Kate, Rex, and Shrinking Rae respond to a situation involving the Lizard League.

Even though the league is considered small fry, they put on a serious fight with Komodo Dragon doing the most damage.

He kills Kate’s doubles quicker than she can duplicate and then kills her alpha, finishing her indefinitely.

When Immortal returns and finds out that Kate is dead, he is crestfallen. A funeral is held and Immortal tries to push on but eventually decides to retire.

Cecil tells him that it’s only a break till he can recover from this loss, but Immortal isn’t so optimistic.

Immortal retreats to a cabin in the snowy mountains where he lives the hermit life until one day, Kate shows up before him.

This Kate has the number ‘0’ on her suit, confirming that she is the true alpha. She always kept her alpha hidden to ensure that she remains alive in the gravest of circumstances.
