Guadalupe Montoro: Zorro character explained

Guadalupe Montoro is an ex-lover of Alejandro de la Vega who is after his inheritance. The character is portrayed by Cecilia Suarez.

The first time Guadalupe Montoro is seen, she is visiting Alejandro’s grave to pay her respects after his murder.

She anonymously donates some money to church in his name and the friar assumes it was from Diego.

After Samael is hired by Vanderveen, he visits her along with Vanderween’s associate. Samael is meant to pretend to be Guadalupe’s son for the sake of their mission.

She tells them that they have to go to Capistrano first to take care of some final details before going to Los Angeles.

They kill the pastor of the parish and falsify Samael’s birth certificate and the parish records to prove that he is Alejandro’s illegitimate son.

Claiming her right

Guadalupe says that she and Alejandro fell in love when they were quite young, and he didn’t have much to his name.

He did have great plans to be a cattle farmer but when he approached Guadalupe’s father, he was met with disapproval.

Hurt by the disrespect, Alejandro gets into an argument with her father and during a struggle, Guadalupe’s father is accidentally killed.

Alejandro is forced to flee and Guadalupe hoped that they would be reunited once again. A few years later, she learns that he married someone else and they had had a child named Diego.

Guadalupe visited to be certain, and her heart was broken when she discovered it to be true.

She moved back to Capistrano and pushed his memory out of her mind. but years later when her mother died, she connected with him again.

He tells her that he’s been a widow for 10 years, and proposes starting a new life with her.

Alejandro had found gold in his mine, and he was in New York to make a deal with Vanderveen.

Unfortunately, he is murdered when he returns to Los Angeles to take care of some business and is not able to marry Guadalupe.

She reaches out to Vanderveen and offers to be his new business partner instead. That is when they craft the plan to gain possession of the inheritance.

Diego doesn’t seem too perturbed about signing over a third of the properties to her, so she and Samael are doubtful of his intentions.
