Typhon’s awakening in Blood of Zeus season 2 explained

Towards the end of the second season of Blood of Zeus, Gaia awakens a deadly monster called Typhon.

When the Titans fell, aside from the Giants, another monster, Typhon, was born. Typhon did not partake in the war between the gods and the Giants.

Python, the great serpent, is said to have convinced Typhon to lay low and wait. While doing so, Typhon kept growing in strength.

With time, Typhon’s power grew to the extent that it became more powerful than the Titans and Giants combined. Eventually, it unleashed this power.

The gods tried to subdue it, but it was not an easy task. The battle between the gods and Typhon was unlike any other; its outcome was uncertain until the very end.

As Typhon was an elemental, the gods could not kill it after the battle, so they subdued and imprisoned the monster beneath Mount Etna.

The return of the Titans

Typhon was stripped of its powers and imprisoned with the help of Eastern magic and witchcraft, but it can be easily freed.

If a living being utters its name, the spell will break, Typhon’s power will return to it, and it will be awakened.

After Zeus’ death, the gods fight for the Eleusinian Stone, which holds Typhon’s powers, to become the next ruler of the Heavens.

It is Heron who manages to get the stone, but Hades, who wishes to rule the Heavens himself, refuses to accept defeat.

He stabs Heron for the stone. Seeing a hero like Heron getting backstabbed enrages Gaia, who is weary of the gods and their flaws.

Heron is the only one who did not act selfishly and impulsively, and the gods betrayed him. She comes to the conclusion that none of the gods deserve the stone.

To punish the gods, Gaia speaks Typhon’s name, which strikes terror in the hearts of the gods. She awakens the monster, marking the return of the Titans, much to everyone’s horror.

She declares the end of the reign of the Olympians. However, all hope is not lost for the Olympians; they can still be saved.

A prophecy foretells the rise of a demigod warrior when Typhon, the evil whose name the gods cannot speak, returns.

It is believed that this demigod will save the Heavens and Earth, and Zeus considered Heron to be the prophesied demigod.
