Eddie Walker: Fool Me Once character explained

In Fool Me Once, Eddie Walker is Claire’s husband and Maya’s brother-in-law. Marcus Garvey plays Eddie.

After losing Claire, Eddie struggles to move on. He becomes an alcoholic with a trash can full of bottles.

He won’t get rid of Claire’s boxes either, though he keeps claiming that he will soon. Maya worries about his condition and is concerned about his children.

Maya and Eddie don’t share a great relationship. However, during the course of the show, Maya grows to trust Eddie to the point where she knows that he will take good care of her daughter, Lily, if something happens to her.

Eddie’s relationship with Claire

Eddie reveals that Claire and he were going through a rough patch, as Claire was always busy working with Joe.

Eddie had come to believe that he is not enough for Claire, and he even suspected that Claire and Joe are having an affair.

Eddie lost his way after Claire’s death. On the night Joe died, he stumbled into a woman, but the memories of Claire won’t let him get close to her.

A great father

Later, when Maya honestly tells Eddie everything Claire was up to, it instills confidence in Eddie.

The honesty further fixes Maya and Eddie’s relationship. Maya assures Eddie that he is a good father, and she only trusts him with Lily if something happens to her. Hence, she can’t have him fall apart.
