Delly and Moss’ past in Florida Man explained

In Florida Man, Delly met Moss at his father’s funeral when she came to exact revenge for her father’s death. The more she stayed with him, the more their relationship changed.

A flashback scene reveals that Delly’s father, Arthur West, killed himself by jumping off a building. There is still more to the story. Delly learns from her mother that her father was laundering money.

On top of that, Delly’s father was also skimming money from a mobster. That mobster came to Chicago and met Arthur at a hotel with a rooftop bar. Delly’s mother knows this because Arthur put their drinks on his card.

Arthur paid for two drinks. One of them was old-fashioned; Arthur doesn’t drink an old-fashioned. Delly’s mother says one should never go meet someone they are skimming from on a rooftop. That’s what Arthur did, and he got pushed off the building.

Delly questioned who killed her father, and though her mother didn’t tell her, Delly figured it out after looking at one of Arthur’s files. The name of the mobster turned out to be Bogdan Yankov, Moss’ father.

Delly meets Moss

Delly visits Bogdan’s house with a gun but drops it in the garden upon seeing a funeral being conducted. After entering the place, she learns that Bogdan has passed away and this is his funeral.

Moss approaches Delly

Delly plans to head back home after finding her gun. Moss approaches her while doing so. Delly claims that she is looking for her lighter, and Moss allows her to use his.

A bit of small talk helps Delly learn a lot more about Moss. She also ends up finding out that he is Bogdan Yankov’s son.

Did Moss kill Delly’s father?

Delly starts dating Moss, and one night, while they are arguing over which town is a great sports town: Philadelphia or Chicago, Moss mentions visiting Chicago on the day the Cubs won a year ago; it’s the same day her father died.

Delly checks the date on her father’s bill and the date the Cubs won to confirm, and it turns out that Moss is the one who met Delly’s father that night and killed him.

Delly holds a gun against Moss while he is fast asleep, hoping to kill the person who pushed her father off the rooftop. Unfortunately, she fails to muster up the courage.

Does Delly kill Moss?

When Moss arrives in Florida, looking for Mike and Delly, he finds Delly first. He confesses that he didn’t know Arthur was her father. Since he is the one holding her at gunpoint, Delly reminds him that she didn’t kill him for that. However, she wasn’t going to stay either.

Later, while they make Mike pull out the truck full of gold for them, Moss lets Delly know that his father never groomed him for this; his father didn’t tell him that he would inherit and run this business.

Delly attempts to kill Moss

Once he passed away, everybody started looking at Moss as someone who was not his father, except for Delly. She made him think he could be someone. She pulled him through. Delly admits that he did the same for her, and maybe that’s why she hesitated to kill him.

However, when Moss, Delly, and Mike find no gold in that truck, Moss attempts to kill Mike. They get into a struggle, and it’s Delly who kills Moss for Mike.

Mike still wanted to visit Iris before running away with Delly, but she was done being a character in someone else’s life. She asked him to choose between her and Iris. Mike went with Iris and the two parted ways.
