Chairman Seonu Geun is an antagonist who orchestrates multiple attacks against Ja-yu. In Blood Free, Um Hyo-sup plays Chairman Seonu.
Chairman Geun Seonu is the owner of a company called DORSON. He is also the father of the country’s prime minister.
Chairman Seonu wishes to acquire Yun Ja-yu’s BF, and he leaves no stone unturned to get what he wants.
Attempts to acquire BF
Chairman Seonu was previously married to the daughter of the country’s president, but she later divorced him. However, he keeps in touch with his son, Seonu Jae.
As Ja-yu’s company has successfully cultivated meat and is now planning to cultivate grains and fish, its value has increased exponentially.
Chairman Seonu and Seonu Jae suspect that Ja-yu is also trying to cultivate human organs, so Chairman Seonu plants a spy in Ja-yu’s close circle—Hae-deun.
Fearing that Ja-yu’s company will surpass all others, Chairman Seonu uses his wealth and influence to acquire it.
He employs a man, Ji Sunwon, to brainwash Professor Kim, who then betrays Ja-yu and defames her cultured fluid, which creates problems for Ja-yu as well as her company.
He then offers to buy the company from Ja-yu—an offer that would allow her to live a life free of all the troubles that come with being in the spotlight.
When Ja-yu refuses to sell her company, he has her attacked. Ja-yu survives because of Chae-woon, but Chae-woon is seriously injured.
Ja-yu saves Chae-woon’s life, confirming Chairman Seonu’s suspicions about her research and cultivation of human organs.
Chairman Seonu’s downfall
This is not the first time Chairman Seonu has crossed the line. In the past, when he felt that his father-in-law was not listening to him, he organized a terrorist attack.
Chairman Seonu believed that he had helped his father-in-law become president. His father-in-law was forced to step down due to the terrorist attack.
Chairman Seonu’s wife discovered the truth about the attack when she went through his phone for evidence of his infidelity because she wanted to file for divorce.
She also informed their son about Chairman Seonu’s involvement in the terrorist attack. While Chairman Seonu managed to manipulate his wife, he could not deceive his son.
Apart from the terrorist attack, Seonu Jae is also fully aware of Chairman Seonu’s attacks on Ja-yu and BF, and this ultimately leads to Chairman Seonu’s downfall.
Seonu Jae allows his mother to inform Chae-woon about Chairman Seonu’s role in the terrorist attack. He wants his father’s crimes to be exposed.
While Chairman Seonu wants BF’s cultured organs to be able to live forever, Seonu Jae seeks to get rid of him so that he can take over as the chairman of DORSON.
Later, Ja-yu’s team contacts Chairman Seonu while impersonating Hae-deun, and their recorded conversation serves as incriminating evidence against Chairman Seonu.
Seonu Jae then betrays Chairman Seonu and has him punished for his crimes. As a result, Chairman Seonu is not only labeled as a terrorist but also loses DORSON.
