Aria Champion: Champion character explained

In Champion, Aria Champion is the mother of Bosco and Vita. Nadine Marshall plays Aria.

Aria Champion runs a West Indian food restaurant in the series. Later on, it is revealed that she was an up-and-coming musician in the past.

Aria is the one who has kept money flowing for Champions with her hard work.

Aria’s past

In the series, Aria, at first, is opposed to Vita pursuing a music career of her own. She often sides with Bosco whenever Aria and Bosco are arguing.

Since Vita and Bosco were kids, Aria has always instructed Vita to give Bosco the limelight, even though Vita has, time and again, shown that she is far more skilled than her elder brother.

Aria shares her story with Vita

Aria’s initial reluctance to let Vita follow her dreams stems from the experiences she has had in the past.

Beres didn’t let her pursue music after the birth of their son, Bosco. He just took her to her restaurant. She stepped into that place and never left.

Aria fears that something similar will happen to Vita, and hence, she wants to protect her from the heartbreak that she will later face.

Aria musters up the courage

When the secret that Junior is Beres’ son comes to light, Aria finally gathers the courage to speak against how Beres and his father have treated women.

Aria and Beres are divorced, but Aria often falls for his charm. Aria’s boyfriend, Lennox, has pointed out that Aria always seems to go to Beres for permission when it comes to making a decision.

Aria’s decision to accompany Beres to his father’s funeral to support him sees Lennox, who genuinely loves her, walk out on her.

Aria and Beres do come close, as Lennox had predicted, but she is left heartbroken upon learning Beres’ secret.

Aria, as well as Vita, abandon Beres following the revelation that Junior is his son. Back home, Aria fixes things with Lennox, and the two come together again.
