Jean-Marc Torrosian: Fiasco character explained

Jean-Marc Torrosian is the bumbling producer on the film who supports Raphael but is often a hindrance rather than helpful. Pascal Demolon plays the character.

Jean-Marc Torrosian is the on-set producer, although the bulk of the budget comes from his ex-wife, Nora.

He is on set with his son Elliot and is excited to spend time with him. Jean-Marc is old and that means he is occasionally out of touch with what is happening.

He also doesn’t have the best hearing and wrongly interprets what his colleagues are saying on multiple occasions.

He maxes out all his cards and only comes up with ten thousand euros to pay the mole and agrees to all of Josephine’s father’s demands after she is injured on set.

When Raphael talks about firing Ludivine, Jean-Marc lies that she has cancer when in truth, she is his partner’s daughter and he doesn’t want to ruin that relationship.

Taken for a ride

After Nora leaves the production, Jean-Marc is left to finance it on his own and he’s worried about funding.

When Tom arrives as “Bartabe”, it reinvigorates Jean-Marc who believes in Bartabe one hundred percent.

Raphael doesn’t keep Jean-Marc in the loop after finding out that Elliot might be the mole and he uses that information to get Nora back on board.

However, Jean-Marc insults her and says that she is not welcome, unaware of developments elsewhere.

Tom tells Raphael that he was sexually involved with Jean-Marc as part of his character and then when Raphael “kidnaps” Tom, Jean-Marc gets very worried.

With the money running out, Jean-Marc gets very desperate and tries to manage costs wherever he can.

He even sells his father’s watch that was supposed to be handed down to Elliot. When he finds out that Tom is pretending to be a rich investor, he is devastated and shuts production.

Months later, he is living in his car and not doing so well until Raphael reaches out and apologizes by paying him back all the money he spent.

He then makes up with Tom at the premiere, bringing a happy end to his story.
