Invincible season 2 part 2 review: Continues to knock it out of the park

Invincible season 2 part 2 sees Mark Grayson juggle life as a superhero with college and also learn about threats in the galaxy. The series is streaming on Prime Video.

Story

Mark Grayson eventually recovers from his fight with the Viltrumites and returns home with the new knowledge that he’s gained.

He hopes that he’s finally got a moment of peace but things are never easy for him and his personal life is affected by his alter-ego.

Mark goes against different foes, old and new, and also discovers more about the galaxy and what is truly out there.

He is forced to make difficult choices if he wants to keep his loved ones safe.

Positives

Invincible has stayed mostly true to the comics and season 2 has been no different. The minor shifts they have made are usually for the better.

The art style is immaculate, and equally gruesome at times. There’s a certain thrill involved when watching the series because one cannot expect how the situation will go.

All the sub-plots and individual arcs are balanced and weaved together perfectly. Episodes are easy to watch and tell a clear story.

There are many meta moments included that will please audiences and it showcases one of the many advantages of adapting a comic in this manner.

Negatives

The vast lore involved in the comics means that there will be certainly missed opportunities in the series as not everything might make it in full to the small screen.

Verdict

Invincible season 2 part 2 continues to build on a strong foundation and only moves in an upward trajectory. There is still enough matter to cover multiple seasons and the audiences will be left craving for more by the end of this season.

The only request would be to release the episodes in one stretch rather than split it into two parts.
