In Spy x Family season 2 episode 6, Yor and her team try to defend Olka and her son from the threats that are on board the ship. The episode is now streaming on Netflix.
Recap
Yor’s team, Olka, and her son are having dinner. Yor shows signs of panicking, but the director of the operation tells her to calm down, as enemies won’t attack in a public place.
Still, neither Yor nor Olka can let their guard down. They don’t have any proof that enemies aren’t on board. Yor and Olka return to their room.
When the Director and the rest of Yor’s team are going back, the Director notices someone following them; he stays back, follows this person, and takes him down.
After interrogating this assassin, the Director learns that their intelligence has been leaked. The ship is filled with assassins who are all working independently to kill Olka and her son and win the prize over their heads.
After getting rid of this assassin, the Director and the person pretending to be Olka’s husband run to Olka’s room. They still don’t know that the whole ship is bugged.
Yor and Olka are attacked by an assassin who has disguised himself as a room service. Yor manages to kill this assassin easily. Yor and Olka will have to change rooms and go to the second class.
The Director advises Yor to avoid fighting and killing, as they can’t keep getting rid of bodies and cause a commotion. Yor, Olka, her son, and her fake husband leave wearing masks. They will pass through the masquerade ball in the Second Lounge.
Concerned that the person protecting Olka is a member of the Garden, the assassins begin working together and cooperating rather than competing with each other.
Meanwhile, unlike Yor’s team, Loid has already figured out that the whole place is bugged. He has also spotted a few suspicious people other than the State Security Service members. However, right now, he is more focused on enjoying himself with his daughter, which he sees as another one of his missions.
Anya reads an assassin’s mind and realizes that he is about to face her mother. Anya gets her father busy with wearing new clothes; he can’t learn that Yor is an assassin.
The assassin, whose name is Sickle-and-Chain Barnaby, attacks Yor, who barely saves herself and Olka. Unlike the two other assassins she took out, this one is far more dangerous. Yor wasn’t able to sense his hostility until the last second.
Review
- Spy x Family season 2 episode 6 raises the stakes to kick off an entertaining arc. The comical part involving Loid and Anya and the hostility and action involving Yor work hand-in-hand.
- It’s quite interesting to see that the skills of the characters are unique to themselves. For example, in this episode, Loid being the first to identify the bugs on the ship shows how a spy stands apart from the assassins.
- Lastly, most of the assassins in the episode give a sense of danger, which keeps one worrying. On the other hand, Loid’s attempt at enjoying his vacation continues to be hilarious.
