Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 8 recap & review: The Shibuya Incident

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 8 sees Gojo arrive at the subway platform alone while Yuji squares up against a grasshopper-like cursed spirit.

Gojo enters the veil and into the subway filled with civilians. Jogo, Hanami, and Choso welcome Gojo, who is amused by their daring.

Meanwhile, Yuji accompanies Mei Mei and Ui Ui to the subway. They learn that below them are transfigured humans, which tells Yuji that Mahito is somewhere down there.

While the siblings contend with the transfigured humans, Yuji goes after the grasshopper-cursed spirit who’s guarding a tool contributing to the veil. He overwhelms and destroys the cursed spirit without using a technique.

Gojo takes on Jogo and Hanami, who use a simple domain application to successfully counter his technique and force him to defend.

Meanwhile, Jogo and company use the civilians to further distract and restrict Gojo, which works as well.

Gojo takes off his blindfold as Geto is shown to be advising Jogo before the battle, asking him to keep Gojo busy for 20 minutes while he prepares his Prison Realm.

  • Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 8 spells a whole lot of trouble for Gojo and other sorcerers. The big turning point in the story is close and the dread has already started to close in.
  • It’s incredible to see Yuji make such light work of a formidable curse without opting for something serious.
