Zee5’s State of Siege: 26/11 release pushed to March

The much awaited Zee5 original, State of Seige: 26/11 has been delayed due to reasons not yet known. This news comes as a shocker as a premier close to India’s 71st Republic Day seemed to be a pre-planned move considering the name and date of the web series.

Responding to the delay, ZEE5 Premium responded on Twitter:

“We regret the delay, but it’s only to make the series much better for you!”

State of Siege is based on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks which took place on 26 November and sent shock waves across the country. Although these attacks have been showcased in cinema before, Zee5’s version tells the story from the National Security Guard’s (NSG) perspective.

The plot for this web series draws inspiration from Sandeep Unnithan’s book, Black Tornado: The Three Sieges of Mumbai 26/11.

There was no prior update on the show being delayed and it raised many eyebrows when the 24 January 2020 release date (mentioned in the earlier teaser) was missed.

An updated teaser released less than a week ago removed the date and declared the web series to be “Coming soon”. However, the possible release has been rumoured to have been shifted to March.

State of Siege: 26/11 stars Arjan Bajwa, Arjun Bijlani, Mukul Dev, Vivek Dahiya, Tara Alisha Berry, Sid Makkad, Vikram Gaikwad and Avinash Wadhwan.

Keep an eye on this space for further updates on the reason for the delay. Until then, watch the updated teaser below:
