ZEE5’s State of Siege: 26/11 gets new release date

ZEE5, on 26 February, released the trailer for its upcoming show State of Siege: 26/11.

Initially the web series was to be released on 24 January, close to the 71st Republic Day of India. However, it was pushed to March by ZEE5 to ensure its quality met the audience’s expectations.

After delaying the premiere once, the platform has confirmed that State of Siege will release on 20 March 2020.

The trailer seems to indicate, as it states “terrorism has no religion”, that the web series does not hold any religion accountable for the events that shook the city of Mumbai in 2008. It shows how naive men are misled into believing that their religion demands inhumane sacrifices and religious interpretations given to them are deceiving.

The web series is based on Sandeep Unnithan’s book, Black Tornado, that narrates the events of 26/11 from the point of view of the NSG commandos, who were called in when the situation could not be handled by the local police.

The trailer also shows the role of organisations, other than the special force, like the media in this war like scenario. The trailer promises that the web series will explore not just the action of the force but also the logistical aspect of the operation.

State of Siege: 26/11 stars actors like Arjan Bajwa, Arjun Bijlani, Vivek Dahiya, Mukul Dev and Sid Makkar among others.
