Netflix India is leaving no stone unturned in promoting season 2 of Sacred Games. They have now released an original mini-episode on their YouTube channel focusing on Shalini Vatsa’s character of Kanta Bai which is also the episode’s name.
The description reads: “A day in the life of Mumbai’s very own Kanta Bai.” The two-and-a-half minute episode is set in Kanta Bai’s bar where all the crooks like to hang out and drink.
A group of four thugs drinks and discusses how Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is physically weak and not even intimidating. One of them reveals to the others that rival gangster, Suleiman Isa (Saurabh Sachdeva) has ordered him to kill Gaintonde. He further jokes about killing God as he is overheard by Kanta Bai.
In a split second, the whole scenario changes as everyone present in the bar points a gun at that boastful crook. Unknown to him, Kanta Bai is loyal to Gaitonde and so is every single gangbanger present there.
Kanta Bai reveals that she was giving him free drinks and feeding his ego to get information about Isa’s plan. She places an umbrella on the table and orders her men to hand over the prisoner to Bunty (Jatin Sarna) along with it.
The possibly first of many episodes is likely set during the events of season 1 as Gaitonde’s empire still stands strong. This is another addition to the large roster of videos already released by Netflix India to create hype for the new season.
Season 2 of Sacred Games starts streaming on 15 August 2019, exclusively on Netflix. Check out the mini-episode below:
